Collection: Adirondack Double Bit axe handles

This style handle was most likely conceived by a clever chopper in the “North Woods,” the Adirondack region of New York, who used the wrong bit one too many times. Interestingly, the J. M. Tatem Co. of Eastford Connecticut referred to this pattern as the “double bitt knob” with no mention of Adirondack in their 1933 catalog. We make these in a 28" cruiser with an ¾" x 2 ¼" eye and in 28", 30", and 32" lengths with 3" x ¾" eye.
