Collection: House axe handles
The house axe resides in the woodshed chopping block for splitting kindling and biscuit wood for the kitchen stove. My house axe is a 2.25# 1958 Spiller Montreal pattern, a gift from my son. It is used daily in the cooler months keeping our cookstove fed. These substantial handles are offered in the traditional 19" length with a 13/16" x 2 7/16" eye as well as 16" length with a ¾" x 2 ¼" eye. The lightly sanded lathe marks are intentionally left on the palm swell, greatly enhancing grip for one hand use. If you prefer a fully sanded handle make note in the special instructions box.
