Collection: French Pattern axe handles

In the New England states, French Canadian “choppers” have always been well-represented in the woods. The axe and saw have given way to the feller buncher, but their quintessential handles are still considered the gold standard for chopping. My son and his cousin found one of these on a picking trip in Connecticut. That handle was instrumental in developing our french pattern line. These springy handles are best used with a 2 ¾ - 3 ½ lb head. These are available in 28" boys with a 2 ¼" x ¾" eye and 28", 30", and 32" lengths with 13/16" x 2 7/16" eyes. Be aware these are slim, measuring 11/16" through the middle.
